At ARTIS, we inspire and activate everyone to take responsibility for nature, for a sustainable world for future generations.

Host a celebration in the Robbenzaal, a conference in the monumental Koningszaal, or hold a meeting under the watchful gaze of former ARTIS directors. Small and large groups alike are welcome at ARTIS, at any time and in any season.

ARTIS is located in the heart of Amsterdam and offers unique opportunities both indoors and outdoors for organizing events. By booking the ARTIS Planetarium, the Tijgerzaal, the Bamboekamer, or any of our other rooms for your celebration, dinner, or conference, you contribute to the preservation of ARTIS.

Here is an overview of our rooms and their possibilities:

The Koningszaal
Organize an event with a view of the Dutch polder exhibit, with dozens of spoonbills, lapwings, and other polder birds. Enter the Koningszaal through a vestibule, a room named after King Willem III, who granted ARTIS the title 'Koninklijk' (Royal). His portrait still hangs there.

The Koningszaal is located on the ground floor of the Groote Museum. With its large windows, it resembles an orangery, with French doors leading to the Artisplein. Suitable for conferences, dinners, parties, and receptions. The Koningszaal can be combined with the entrance vestibule and the adjacent Tijgerzaal.

The Tijgerzaal
From the vestibule, you'll walk directly into the largest painting by 19th-century artist Charles Verlat, depicting buffalos attacked by tigers. The tension of the tiger pouncing on the buffalo is still palpable. Since the museum's establishment, the authentic chandelier has been used for meetings, knowledge exchange, and dining.

The Tijgerzaal connects to the Artisplein through its doors and lets you listen to the songs of the white-cheeked gibbon. The Tijgerzaal is suitable for intimate receptions, dinners, or gatherings and can be combined with the vestibule and the adjacent Koningszaal.

The Serre
Surround yourself with colorful and edible flowers, plants, and herbs at the new borrel (drinks) and dinner location, the Serre: located in a greenhouse nestled in greenery. Taste the fresh dishes from the greenhouse on the terrace or host a dinner in an intimate setting. During the day, the Serre is open to the public, and in the evening, it can be booked for your event.

The Robbenzaal
Dine or celebrate with a view of the Californian sea lions. The lighting design allows you to adjust the ambiance of the room according to your preference. Create an underwater atmosphere or narrate your own story on the screens lining the walls. During the day, the Robbenzaal is open to the public, and in the evening, it can be booked for your event.

Blauwe Sterrenzaal
Gather among hundreds of blue stars on the first floor of the Noord Paviljoen. A place where the ARTIS board once received King Willem III. The Blauwe Sterrenzaal is situated on the upper level of the Noord Paviljoen of the Ledenlokalen, between the main entrance of ARTIS-Park and ARTIS-Micropia. Suitable for an unforgettable dinner, an inspiring meeting, or a delightful wedding. The Blauwe Sterrenzaal can be booked together with the other rooms on the ground floor.

Stichtingskamer
Hold your meetings under the watchful eye of former ARTIS directors. This room was the office of ARTIS's founder, Dr. G.F. Westerman. It has always been a place for organizing, contemplating, and making future plans.

Bamboekamer
Present, meet, or dine in the Bamboekamer, located next to the main entrance of ARTIS. The walls of the Bamboekamer feature unique artworks from the ARTIS collection.

Planetarium
During the day, visitors are taken on a journey through planets and galaxies in the Planetarium, which transforms into a unique event location in the evening. Project colorful animations onto a wide presentation screen, or let a DJ or band entertain your guests on the circular stage in the center of the room.

Custom projections and animations can be arranged. Consider product demos or a photo compilation. The Planetarium can be booked after the closing time of ARTIS-Park.

Collegezaal
Located in the heart of ARTIS-Park stands the monumental building called 'de Volharding.' This is where you'll find the Collegezaal. This classical, circular lecture hall dates back to 1888 and is built around the speaker, much like an amphitheater. Learn more about the rich history of ARTIS and the relationship between humans and nature during a lecture by our ARTIS professor or host your own presentation or lecture.

De Waterkant
Gather at De Waterkant, situated along the Entrepotdok, and admire the view through the glass walls onto the Savanne, or enjoy a drink on the terrace while spotting the Asian elephants in the distance. The restaurant floors of De Waterkant are at different heights, making this location suitable for both large events and private receptions. Host a barbecue on the terrace or a reception after a lecture in the Collegezaal.

Huize Welgelegen
Huize Welgelegen is an authentic, partly wooden house with a garden that is part of ARTIS-Park. All of this makes it a very atmospheric house, right in the heart of the city. It's in the heart of Amsterdam but surrounded by nature.

Huize Welgelegen is suitable for overnight stays and meetings. From the hallway, authentic stairs lead to all rooms, including meeting rooms and bedrooms.

De Hazelaar and Muziektent
In addition to the animals, ARTIS also has a large collection of plants. You'll experience this when you settle in the new tent pavilion called De Hazelaar. This cozy tent is located among various types of hazel trees. It's the perfect place for a comprehensive drinks gathering, barbecue, or walking dinner.

Exclusive Zoomeravond at ARTIS-Park Gather, stroll, and explore during an exclusive Zoomeravond (summer evening) in ARTIS-Park. Spend an evening with colleagues, guests, or partners.

During an exclusive Zoomeravond, the entire ARTIS-Park is available for your organization. ARTIS provides a social gathering filled with music and activities for your guests. Additionally, seasonal dishes are served from cargo bikes or food trucks in the park, and there are several bars offering drinks.

Apart from activities for adults, there are various options for children's activities, including shows in the ARTIS Planetarium, workshops, or a puppet theater.

A central meeting point is created in the heart of ARTIS-Park, where your guests can come together.
