Platanen Salon

Meet in a room with a view of the plane trees on the Artisplein. See spoonbills and other meadow birds scurrying around in the Dutch Polder.

Traditionally, a salon has the function of a 'showroom', and that is no different with this space. The heavenly blue ceiling is one to behold; it has been carefully restored and brought back to its full 19th-century glory. Changing artworks from the ARTIS collection adorn the walls of the salon. And the wallpaper has been specially designed for this space by artist Pavèl van Houten, inspired by the spots on the bark of the plane tree.
