Café Budel

In the early 19th century, the 'living room' in many Brabant farmhouses was the domain of the men from the neighborhood. At least, on Saturdays - when the weekly wages were paid - and on Sundays after church. The men come for a glass of top-fermented beer, a chat, and perhaps even for a secret drink. During that time, women and children are often not welcome in the pub, but fortunately, that has changed now that Café Budel is in the Open-Air Museum.
