Museum Cobra

The light and modernly designed Cobra Museum of Modern Art is located just around the corner from the Stadshart Amstelveen shopping center, across from the library and the Amstelveen Schouwburg theater. There are two parking garages nearby. The Cobra Museum is a place that offers tranquility and inspiration. Each day, numerous visitors from both the Netherlands and abroad explore the various exhibitions with great interest. This inspiring place is also highly sought-after for events, not only because of its unique setting and pleasant building but also because the Cobra museum offers a multitude of possibilities. Like the Cobra movement, we are always open to new ideas, creativity, and experiments. Events after closing hours and in the exhibition rooms are often feasible, and even when the museum is open, there is a lot that can be done. A private presentation, a dinner amidst the artworks, a guided tour as part of your event, a conference with breakout spaces, or a trade fair—it's all possible. The Cobra museum cafe can be used for a break, a homemade lunch, or a pastry with coffee and tea, or for a cocktail or reception with delicious freshly prepared catering. In the summer, we even have an outdoor terrace. We take care of the museum's catering ourselves. We have our own kitchen, and fresh cakes are baked daily. For dinners, we collaborate with our regular chefs or external caterers. There are many possibilities when it comes to catering, and we'd be happy to discuss them with you.

The building of the Cobra Museum, designed by Wim Quist, is characterized by an abundance of light and space. The museum has large windows at the front and back, various skylights, and a round patio in the center of the building, providing ample daylight in almost all spaces. There are two large exhibition halls on the ground floor and the first floor, both of which are used for gatherings. In addition, there is a separate room right next to the entrance on the ground floor that can be closed off from the rest of the museum. There is a Boardroom on the third floor that can also be used separately at any time. When the museum is closed, on Mondays and on other days after 5:00 PM, dinners on site or presentations are often possible. The possibilities may vary depending on each exhibition.
