About

This linen room was previously used for mangling, ironing, and storing linens.

In this room, the Xylothek of Castle Groeneveld is exhibited. This Xylothek by Schlümbach is a special collection of wood in book form from 1790.

King Lodewijk Napoleon - the brother of Napoleon Bonaparte - gave a Xylothek as a gift to the Universities of Leiden, Franeker, and Harderwijk between 1809 and 1811.

The collection of tree books exhibited here is the Xylothek of the University of Leiden and consists of 147 volumes.

This space is ideal for a breakout session or a meeting.

The room is quietly located at the back of the building in the basement.
